Streamline Measurement have been manufacturing rugged, weatherproof GRP cabinets for the utility industries for many years. Originally developed for housing groundwater level loggers in remote locations, the new solar cabinet is a natural progression in this product development.

An existing client asked if we could develop a version with integral solar panels to recharge internal 12V batteries which would provide backup power for their telemetry and instrumentation. By fitting 10 watt solar panels on each of the 3 sides of the cabinet we ensure some charging is taking place throughout the daylight period. The panels are embedded into the walls of the cabinet which will make the best use of low solar angles in winter. This also avoids using high, obvious mounting poles and reduces the risk of vandalism.
